Confidentiality Statement

I appreciate your trust in sharing sensitive and vulnerable information with me. Rest assured, I am committed to safeguarding your privacy, confidentiality, and overall safety.

In the event of a chance encounter in public, I will respect your privacy by not acknowledging our connection unless you initiate the conversation. If you do and I am asked, I will simply state that we met online through LinkedIn.

As a therapist, I am dedicated to maintaining confidentiality in all matters, with specific legal exceptions, which include:

-
Serious Child or Elder Abuse: If you disclose information indicating serious concern for the safety of a child or elder, I am obligated to report this in accordance with the law.
-
Suicidal Threats with a Plan: If you express intentions of self-harm with a concrete plan and means, I am obligated to take appropriate action. Note that general suicidal thoughts and feelings are common and fall outside this exception.
-
Threats of Harming Others: If you share plans to harm someone else, I am required to act in accordance with Miranda Law.
-
Court Mandates: In the event of legal proceedings requiring the disclosure of records, I will take minimal to no notes on your therapeutic journey. I will use client-therapist privilege to protect your personal information to the fullest extent allowed by law.
Your well-being is my priority, and I am dedicated to navigating these exceptions responsibly and ethically.
If you are a new client, please review my Intake Form and Liability Waiver on the New Clients page of my website before our first meeting in person or online. Thank you.
